Launching of Jakarta's 2025 Anniversary Enlivens Blok M

Jakarta, 24 May 2025 - Blok M will be the center of celebrations for the launch of Jakarta's 498th anniversary with the launch of Blok M Hub and various cultural activities. The event is expected to draw thousands of visitors from across the city. Local artists and communities will also participate to showcase their creative works. This celebration aims to strengthen community ties and promote Blok M as a modern cultural and commercial hub.

Blok M, an iconic area in South Jakarta, has become the center of attention of the capital city's residents with the inauguration of the initial stage of the revitalization of the Blok M Terminal into "Blok M Hub" by the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung. This inauguration also marks the launch of the 498th Anniversary of the City of Jakarta.

Blok M Hub is a Transit Oriented development (TOD) that incorporates Martha Christina Tiahahu Literacy Park, the bus terminal, and the MRT Blok M BCA station. Making Blok M a contemporary, pedestrian-friendly cultural, culinary, and transit hub is the goal of this restoration.

The launch event of Jakarta’s anniversary in Blok M was enlivened by Betawi art and cultural performances, an UMKM bazaar, an ASEAN festival, jakcloth and music events. This activity is part of a series of celebrations for Jakarta’s anniversary which will last until June 2025.

The rehabilitation of Blok M is a symbol of Jakarta's transition into a contemporary, global city while preserving its cultural identity, said Governor Pramono Anung in his speech. "Blok M Hub is a real example of how we can integrate transportation, culture, and public space for the convenience of citizens." said Governor Pramono.

The opening of Blok M Hub and the beginning of a number of festivities marking its 498th anniversary demonstrate Jakarta's dedication to advancing innovation and fortifying its reputation as a sustainable and inclusive city.

Students with Learning Difficulties Get Less Attention from Teachers

Tangerang, 11 May 2025 - Students feel left behind and lose interest in studying when teachers don’t respond to their difficulties. In many schools, the issue of students with learning difficulties not receiving enough attention persists. Students who are confident and proficient in the course are given greater attention by teachers, while others who are less competent are ignored.

"I think students who are shy or unsure are often neglected," Fathir said. He also said that many teachers assume that all students can follow the lesson without really checking each individual's understanding. "If someone doesn't understand grammar or vocabulary, often the teacher doesn't realize it or doesn't have time to check," he continued.

The student also gave a specific example from an English class experience. A friend asked for assistance after struggling to understand a reading, but all they received was the directive to reread it without further explanation. "I felt that the teacher's answer was unhelpful and seemed dismissive," he said.

The student claims that as a result, the environment in the classroom stopped being encouraging. Previously lively friends grew quieter and less inclined to join in. He said "It made me think, maybe there are many other students who also find it difficult but choose to stay silent."

In order to make things better, the student recommended that teachers simplify their explanations of the subject and be more understanding and receptive to inquiries. Additionally, he emphasized the significance of creating a supportive learning atmosphere.

To enable students to support one another, he recommended peer tutoring programs or small group sessions at the school level. "Most importantly, schools need to create a culture where asking for help is not something to be ashamed of." He concluded.

The Sparkling DBL Festival 2025 Rocked Kota Kasablanka Mall

Jakarta, 3 May 2025 - The grand event of DBL Festival 2025 was successfully held at Kota Kasablanka Mall, Jakarta, presenting the spirit and creativity of students from all over the country. Different from the usual basketball tournaments, DBL Festival incorporates various elements of urban culture-from skill challenge exhibitions, dunk contests, dances, to local musicians that enliven the atmosphere.

“DBL Festival is not just a celebration of sports, but a celebration of the character and spirit of the younger generation,” said Azrul Ananda, founder of DBL Indonesia.

Visitors were invited to watch exciting matches between DBL alumni and celebrities, try out interactive areas from sponsors (such as virtual shooting games, NBA arena-style photo booths), and shop the exclusive Kasablanka edition of the DBL Store collection.

The highlight of the event happened on Saturday night, when the celebrities played basketball and afterwards the grand atrium or court was enlivened by Yura Yunita's performance.

"It's really fun! First time watching basketball in a mall." said Fathir, a spectator.

DBL Festival 2025 is proof that sports, music and lifestyle can come together as a positive platform for Indonesia's young generation.
