Tangerang, 15 July 2025 - Universitas Muhammadiyah Tangerang (UMT) officially dispatched 2,580 students to take part in the 2025 Community Service Program (KKN) at GOR Nambo, Karawaci District, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. The symbolic departure process was led by the Deputy Mayor of Tangerang City, H. Maryono Hasan, who was present along with campus representatives and local government officials. In his speech, Maryono emphasized that KKN is not only a form of community service, but also a means to build leadership character and a sense of social empathy among students.
This year's KKN theme, "Environmentally Based MSME Development for a Sustainable Economy," was praised as a strategy aligned with the Tangerang City Government's development focus. Maryono hopes the students will not only act as project implementers but also become drivers of change in the community by providing mentoring, creating innovation, and implementing digital adaptations for MSMEs.
The Community Service Program (KKN) activities will take place in various sub-districts and urban villages in Tangerang City and Tangerang Regency, with the aim of providing a positive impact on small business actors through mentoring, digital training, and environmentally friendly business strategies.
Overall, the release of KKN is an important momentum in empowering local communities through campus and local government collaboration. Hopefully the implementation of KKN will succeed in realizing a real contribution to the development of Tangerang City.
